Last year, 50-year-old Scandanavian bakery Leske’s shut its Bay Ridge doors. But now we learn the bakery will reopen Wednesday under new ownership. The move has the blessing of the Leske family, and much of the old staff will return, with the same Scandinavian recipes — plus black-and-white cookies — the shop is known for. To celebrate, Leske’s is throwing a “cookie-breaking” celebration at 11:30 on Wednesday, with free cookies all day until they run out. After that, hours will be 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
