While Imperial No. Nine at the Mondrian Soho, died a slow, ugly, and, some would believe, unfortunate death, the restaurant to take over (i.e. save!) its undeniably jaw-dropping 5,000 square feet of glamorous space, Isola Trattoria & Crudo Bar, opens this Friday with a promising new chef, Victor LaPlaca, and an attractive, uncomplicated new menu. Second time is a charm!
