Grayson Schmitz Moving Back to NYC; Chris Jones Moving to SF

You may recall that we chronicled the first Chicago event held by Grayson Schmitz, Top Chef contestant who was planning to settle here to open some kind of salon underground popup something or other space which sounded vague, but potentially cool. We even saw her the other night at a dinner at fellow Cheftestant Beverly Kim’s Bonsoiree. But it turns out that was probably the last time we’ll see her— she’s apparently moving back to New York to be head of recipe development for Olivier Cheng, a New York catering company. Look back on her all too brief tenure in Chicago with a revisit to our slideshow of her first, and almost only, event. [Eater]

And former Moto executive chef Chris Jones, also of Top Chef, who recently took off some time to look for his next gig, is heading to San Francisco to be director of culinary innovation for Hampton Creek Foods and Beyond Eggs, a company which makes plant-based egg substitutes, which sounds like just the lab for a guy who’d probably make an egg before he’d run to the grocery store to buy some, anyway.
