Gary Menes Leading Santa Barbara’s ‘Taste of the Town’

Speaking of Tiara Cafe, gifted chef Gary Menes, who garnered major raves for his pop-up, Le Comptoir, while cooking there, has been named the lead chef for Santa Barbara’s 31st annual “Taste of the Town.” On September 9, Menes will join a gang-load of local restaurants and nearby wineries at the town’s Riviera Park Gardens from 12:30 to 3:30 P.M., designing a five-course meal for the fundraiser’s Connoisseurs’ Circle Pavilion and executing it with help from teachers from the nearby City College. $100 advance tickets ($125 at the door) are available online, with proceeds going to help the Arthritis Foundation.
