‘Tastes Like Hate:’ Torrance Chick-fil-A Hit With Activist Graffiti

Two days following Mike Huckabee’s scarily successful “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day,” a “NationalSame Sex Kiss Day” is planned today by marriage equality activists who oppose the chain’s homophobic stance and deep financial contributions against LGBT rights. But hours before South Bay could even climb aboard this love train, a street art activist, possibly not acting alone, attacked the Torrance location of Chick-fil-A, writing “Tastes Like Hate” in the chain’s familiar illiterate cow scrawl, with a stencil of a cow painting the words. The graffiti follows a growing Chick-fil-A opposition movement, which includes L.A. restaurants introducing their own LGBT-backing fried chicken sandwiches and the launch of a fake, hate-spewing Chick-fil-A Twitter feed.

The Daily Breeze reports that the graffiti was discovered this morning and already been scrubbed off the wall so as not to offend conservative chicken consumers. So far, there are no suspects, though the work appears to be that of some budding Banksy or Ron English. South Bay police are bulking up their presence at all three area Chick-fil-A locations today and are probably chomping at the bit to “find the little punk who did this.” Or so we like to imagine the chief saying at the station this morning as he slammed his fist on a podium.

Update: Believe it or not, the far right is having a total fit over this.
