Bartenders Have Always Had It Out for Mojitos

The fastest way to get a bartender to hate you? Order a mojito. Even if they do have sufficient mint on hand, “You can make six or seven other drinks in the same time [it takes to] make three mojitos,” one drinks slinger tells the Post. Unfortunately, the refreshing quaff seems to be many people’s “panic order,” particularly in the case of middle-aged men (because that’s not fruity). And once one chump starts drinking a mojito, everybody wants one. So don’t be surprised if you ask for the Cuban specialty and learn a place conveniently has no mint. As another bartender reveals, “If it’s between midnight and 4 a.m., every bar is out of mint.” [NYP]
