Bacon one-upmanship may have reached its zenith in SoCal, even in our post-bacon-wrapped-bacon era. Slater’s 50/50, the three-strong chain known for its crazy burgers, including a half-beef, half-bacon patty, is now serving a 100% bacon burger called “The ‘Merica.” According to ABC, the burger features a patty made from 100% ground bacon that is then topped with thick-cut bacon, bacon cheddar cheese, bacon island dressing, and … an egg served sunny-side-up (orange you glad we didn’t say bacon?). The $10.95 burger was dreamed up by an owner at a Charger’s tailgate party, who somehow remained drunk enough to try to make the thing the next day. The baconiest burger on earth, for now, is available through July at all three SoCal Slater’s 50/50 locations, where bacon milkshakes and Bloody Marys are served to finish you off.
