Great news for the Northeast this morning as The Eastsider L.A. reports that Scoops owner Tai Kim is branching out to a Highland Park location on York Boulevard and Avenue 51. You’d think that the extreme pleasures of Scoops, which serves ice cream and non-dairy reflecting true flavors, whether the taste be chocolate-Guinness or ricotta creme brulee, would hold enough promise to kill the inevitable gentrification discussion that mars the comments in every post about a new business opening east of Vermont. But you’d be wrong, of course. This new Scoops location and production facility, the third Scoops following Matt Kang’s Scoops Westside, is currently under construction. [TESLA]
