Minutes ago David Katz dropped the bombshell on Twitter that last night’s pork dinner, his annual pig-out party at Mémé with like-minded chefs Terence Feury, Jen Carroll, Pierre Calmels, Peter Woolsey and others, will serve as his restaurant’s farewell. As of today, it’s closed. For good. The closing caps an impressive four year run. Though short on details — he’s issuing an official statement later this morning — Katz said he was looking to “do other things” now that he’s made the decision to close. “Yeah, it’s true,” he told Grub when we rang him up. “Last night was our last night of service. I’m selling the joint.” We’ll keep you posted as more details surface.
