Righto, Cheeky Chappie Opens Brilliant New Shop

If you hit the farmer’s market circuit you’ve surely run into Nick Spencer, frying up his authentic English bangers and back bacon for sandwiches and such. Now he’s opened a tidy little shop selling his meat products along with imported British and Irish groceries at 1405 W. Irving Park. It’s called Spencer’s Jolly Posh Foods and besides offering his wares, he’ll be serving tea and scones (which be sure to pronounce “skawns”). The hitch is, he really is a one-man operation at present, so if the market’s on, the door will be locked. That doesn’t mean it’s just a local shop for local people; you’ll find him at the Armitage Farmer’s Market on Saturdays or the Logan Square Market on Sundays. [Dish]
