Rhapsody Closed, Zanella Out; New Restaurant To Be Called Tesori

Rhapsody, the Italian restaurant in Symphony Center, closed after service last night, Grub Street Chicago has learned. The restaurant, which was operated by Blue Plate Catering, will be remodeled slightly and open as a more casual mid-priced restaurant called Tesori (“treasure”). Opened in 1995, Rhapsody had a good run, but its upscale feel was apparently felt to be increasingly out of step with the desire for casual dining, even among pre-Symphony diners. Out on the street as a result is chef Dean Zanella, who’s had a little bit of a tough run lately after many successful years running 312 Chicago; his Taylor Street collaboration with Scott Harris, Aldino’s, opened and closed quickly, and he didn’t quite make a year at Rhapsody.
