Petite Syrah, the Santa Rosa restaurant formerly known just as Syrah, will close this fall, and chef-owner Josh Silvers appears to want to open something healthier and more accessible in its place. Silvers recently lost about 40 pounds by exercising and laying off the foie gras (though the restaurant was one of those which did a farewell-to-foie menu last month), and he tells BiteClub Eats, “I eat much healthier now, and I want to share with the public how much better we all can feel by eating better and spending less.” He says Petite Syrah has “run its course” and he’s ready to try something new, but he’s not revealing much more than that. Also, the exact closing date has not been announced. In the meantime, Silvers will be doing a series best-of menus, not unlike another Sonoma restaurant closing this fall, Cyrus. [BiteClub]
