It appears that Breadbar won’t be resuscitated on Third Street any time soon, as its “For Lease” sign has been preempted and permits indicate an exciting change of ownership on its way. Lady M Confections, Upper East Side New York’s precious patisserie known for its outstanding, 20-layered mille crepe, among other laboriously crafted French cakes, tarts, and pastries, is taking over the space for its first West Coast location. Lady M, described in New York as a “dessert salon,” has two ridiculously immaculate, sheer white shops in Manhattan, indicating that an opening is several more months away once Breadbar’s banshees are all cleaned out.
