Umami Burger founder Adam Fleischman announces a new role as co-owner and partner at L.A. Creamery, the nearly two-year-old ice cream company launched by Stephen Bikoff and Brad Saltzman. Fleischman has acquired an ownership stake in the brand, where he plans to push distribution and also create new flavors. The company’s latest hook is to combine the pleasures of booze with the joys of ice cream, resulting in newly introduced tastes from Fleischman like “Porc Phat,” using Iberico lardo, Asian pears, hazlenuts, and a pure mint gel, along with a “Mezcal” flavor and an “Absinthe” variety made with actual absinthe for a root beer float that will debut today at the new Anaheim location of Umami Burger. L.A. Creamery is offering the flavors on a newly redesigned website, as well, where Fleischman’s flavors even come in their own party pack (starting at a mind-slapping $90 for six pints).
