The Improper Bostonian Drops Boston’s Best 2012

This year’s edition of the Improper Bostonian’s Boston’s Best issue is out now. The food and dining list covers the best of Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and the metro area, with neighborhood winners noted as well. Let the great Boston culinary scene debate ensue!

Highlights in this year’s winners include newcomer Sweet Cheeks winning best barbecue and Bon Me representing for the full-fledged food truck scene in the city by winning best food truck. Somerville also represents its growing dining scene in this year’s winners. Somerville walked away with five wins for Food & Dining and three wins for Bars & Clubs.

Of course, the list sparked a few food fights as well. Eater Boston notices the best salad went to Whole Foods rather than a local establishment. The Improper Bostonian also labels pop-ups as the worst trend of the year, arguing that for “the prices you’re paying, the food rarely approaches the hype.”
