Back in February we told you that Dave Magrogan was bringing his Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House concept to the long vacant La Terrasse space on University of Pennsylvania’s campus. That satellite location, the fourth for the small chain, opens today at 5 p.m. The oyster house and seafood restaurant has a more sophisticated air about it, and a “more upscale” menu than other locations, which general manager Dan Morris told the Daily Pennsylvanian is a result of the location and the stiffer competition for dining dollars that comes with being in the city. The marble-topped bars and surrounding 19th century oyster bar vibe, Magrogan told KYW’s Hadas Kuznits, was eked out with the use of reclaimed wood from old shipping containers and barns. The new spot will feature a daily selection of more than 20 different oysters, plus fresh caught crabs, shrimp, scallops and larger seafood entrees. [DP; KYW Newsradio]
