Community-Supported Fishery Village Fishmonger Launching Soon

Vegetables are old news: The latest share to get in on involves seafood, in the form of several new community-supported fisheries popping up in NYC. Soon-to-launch Village Fishmonger is the latest on the scene, boasting “boat-to-table” sourcing of local seafood, based out of the East Village. Meanwhile, Mermaid’s Garden CSF just launched last month in Brooklyn, offering Long Island and New England fish, with its next “season” starting in August. And Port Clyde Fresh Catch debuted a few years back with community-supported shrimp. We like the thought that joining one of these means avoiding seafood that’s been sneakily frozen, then thawed — it’s something to consider if you’re really into the Filet-o-Fish trend.
