Birdbath/City Bakery owner (and Cheap Eats catfish provocateur) Maury Rubin is feeling morose this morning — his landlord over at Birdbath at Vesuvio’s on Prince Street insists that the famously green exterior will be painted this week. The faded, graffitied, avocado-cum-Kermit color is iconic to Prince Street and replicating that exact shade “feels like long odds.” Thus, Rubin has implemented an open call to artists and designers, pleading: What’s your Pantone number on this?
