Beran. Terhune. Brochu. And… Miracle Whip?

UPDATE: A friend went to this and reports that she was made to sign a publicity waiver and pose for a picture to get her Miracle Whipped Ratatouille on Naan. So be aware of this (which we did not know about) if it matters to you. It’s just crazy enough it might work! Three top chefs (one, indeed, a Top Chef-testant), one food truck… and the secret ingredient they have to use is Miracle Whip. Today, tomorrow and Thursday, three of our best chefs will be handing out examples of what they can do with Miracle Whip from a food truck called the, er, Miracle Whip. Yes, we assume there was a nice check involved for each of them, but we grew up in the midwest too and fully respect the slightly kicky not-quite-mayo as an essential downhome ingredient, so we’re eager to see what these chefs do with it. Today, from 11:30 to 1:30, Andrew Brochu (Graham Elliot) will be handing out Summer Ratatouille on Naan with Miracle Whipped Ricotta at the corner of Chicago and Larrabee. Tuesday, same bat-time, Dave Beran of Next will be serving food without tickets at Van Buren and Wabash; his will be a Banh Mi…racle Whip. And Thursday night from 6 to 8 at 694 Wine & Spirits, Heather Terhune (Sable) will dish up a Fried Green Tomato-Pork Belly BLT, and if that isn’t what Miracle Whip was made for, we don’t know what is. If you try any of them, let us know how they were. [312DD]
