Bacon and European Wines Share a Table at Vintage Enoteca

Vintage Enoteca

This Friday and Saturday, Hollywood’s Vintage Enoteca is holding an uncommon wine-pairing event; Unique, even in these times of rabid sowbelly-obsession. Starting at 7:00 P.M. and stretching through each evening, the wine bar is coupling three gourmet preparations of bacon with three 2009 European wines. Dishes include a scallop and bacon roll with Portugese Quinta de la Rosa**, a blend of Gouveio, Viosinho, and Rabigato, along with bacon-wrapped corn dogs (sorry, Steve Carell) with Austrian Blaufränkisch, and dessert of bacon s’mores with French Cornet et Cie’s granche noir. It’s just $25 for the bacon dishes, served with a 2.5-ounce pour of each wine. Reservations available at 323-512-5278.

**We’d earlier suggested that all the wines being served are red, but this one is clearly not. Sorry for the mistake!
