The first month of the new ticketing system at Alinea went on sale yesterday afternoon. And while it may not have produced quite the crush that Next has, it wasn’t exactly an unfamiliar experience, either— tickets went within a few hours, and by about 6 p.m. last night were down to a few six tops which were released after being on hold with purchasers who didn’t complete their transaction. The Facebook page promises that the remainder of the year might be a little more orderly process than the present mad-scramble-for-any-date-you-can-get, or the frequent meltdowns that were part of the system’s early days at Next:

Lots of questions regarding Sept - December. We will announce a date / time for those to go on sale via here and Twitter with plenty of notice. Now that the system is running we are all set up… no issue in giving notice.

Meanwhile, if you can’t dine there in August, you can at least look at some new food photos they just put up, and see what you won’t be eating.
