As we stated back in February, when tubed-meat upstart Underdogs started taking orders from its subterranean location near 17th and Walnut, as far as food trends go, our money’s on hot dogs as the next big thing. Even more so now that the Underdogs crew’s double-downed and signed a lease on a second location. The Insider reports that the shop’s top dog, Robert Amar, will open another of his popular hot dog boutiques next to Geno’s Steaks in the former home of Vietnamese hoagie joint O Sandwiches. Word is, he will offer a similar menu, and is shooting for September for an opening. [Insider]
