Last month, we leaked news that Hollywood’s Sadie was plotting its own guest-mixology series to show-off a variety of imported bartenders in the months to come. Tomorrow night will see the series’ debut, with San Francisco’s Neyah White joining Giovanni Martinez in taking over Sadie’s Parlour for three hours of cocktails influenced by Japanese tea ceremonies, all using whisky from Japan (White is a brand ambassador for Yamazaki who gave up bar-tending gigs at The Redwood Room for the job). What’s going on the menu?

White will offer a Japanese ice carving demo, making frozen spheres using a soba knife, for anyone who orders their whisky “neat,” and plans at least three cocktails of his own creation. Drinks will include a cola-less “Yamazaki and cola” (we’re told it makes sense when you try it), a “Tai Yu” cocktail with 12-year Yamazaki served in a bucket with a Japanese ice ball, and a “Chanoyu” cocktail employing strained Hakushu twelve-year with a mint rub, alongside Martinez’ usual Sadie selection, available at both bars. The event is free of a cover-charge from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. tomorrow night at 1638 N. Las Palmas Ave. Hollywood.
