The newest venture in the bar empire of Duncan Ley and Ben Bleiman (Tonic, Bullitt, Mayhem, Rebel) is Lightning (1875 Union Street), which is taking over the former Unwind on Union/Four Corners space and opens on Sunday, July 1. We broke the news about the bar back in April, and today Eater gets the word of this weekend’s soft opening, which will include a limited food menu of burgers, fries, tater tots and such. Later, there will also be buffalo wings, a General-Tso’s-style chicken sandwich, and, coming in August, brunch. [Eater]
