On Friday, we reported on an upcoming Community Board 2 meeting that’s chockablock with some potentially great food and drink tidbits, including the news that Tom Colicchio (d.b.a. Colicchio & Son), will be seeking a license to serve beer and wine from a “freestanding” concession in front of 860 Washington Street. We’ve learned that the busy chef will in fact be the anchor tenant of the forthcoming outdoor market from Urban Space, the same folks who run Mad. Sq. Eats and Dekalb Market. Word is that the project will be open under the High Line in July, through August, and that Colicchio will operate a beer pavilion of sorts, with some outdoor seating, where he’ll be joined by other food vendors. Urban Space seems to be accepting new vendor applications for this meatpacking endeavor. [Urban Space, Earlier]
