Want To Be Chris Cosentino’s Sous Chef at Williams-Sonoma on Friday?

How cool is this: Chris Cosentino, hipper than hip San Francisco chef of Incanto, veteran of Iron Chef America and about to be on Top Chef Masters, who has both his own salume line (Boccalone) and his own clothing and shoe lines, will be in Chicago Friday, for a chef demo and book signing at the Williams-Sonoma at 900 N. Michigan at 1 p.m. Besides signing his new cookbook, Beginnings: My Way To Start a Meal, he’ll be preparing a couple of recipes from the book, Artichoke Mint & Lemon and Egg & Anchovy Crostini. But one thing— he needs some help. As in, a capable assistant. And if you’re free at that time, that capable assistant prepping alongside a Top Chef Master contestant etc. could be you.

Besides the coolness factor of cooking with Chris Cosentino, you’ll also get a copy of the book and a gift from Williams-Sonoma. We’ll pick somebody by drawing, all we ask is that you 1) are actually available then and 2) have reasonable home cook skills, at least— the recipes are from the cookbook, so that should be all that’s required. (But professionals and culinary students are certainly welcome to put their names in too.) Just send your name and phone number to chicago@nymag.com. We’ll contact the winner by Thursday with more details. And if you don’t feel like doing mixing and chopping or whatever is required… just be at Williams-Sonoma Friday at 1 p.m. to meet him and see him before everyone sees him on Top Chef Masters.
