Beny’s Epicerie Is Prospect Heights’ New Source for Tout Français

Clinton Hill bakery and takeaway Beny’s Delice has expanded to nearby Prospect Heights with Beny’s Epicerie, a slightly larger twelve-seat cafe and grocery now open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The shop stocks some of the same superb croissants, baked goods, and prepared foods as Delice, as well as all the fixings a Francophile could require — packaged goods, spices, olive oil, meats, cheeses, and even mayo, in case the domestic stuff at Empire Mayonnaise across the street won’t cut it. Wine should be included, bien sur, but owner David Benizeri says he has a few more months to wait for a wine-and-beer license — when that arrives, expect a selection of organic vino.
