The Silver Lake space that once housed Eat Well and later Alfredo Diaz’s K2, which shuttered in just a year last fall, is reopening today as a new cafe called Sunset Junction Coffee Shop. Jenna Turner, the Susina Bakery owner who recently revitalized Echo Park’s Chango Coffee, is behind the new venture, which plans to sell breakfast dishes, soups, sandwiches, Susina’s pastries, and Brooklyn Bagel Bakery’s bagels for lunch and dinner, with plans to go 24/7 in time.

Turner tells KCET that the quick acquisition of the space was inspired partly by the coming of Village Idiot’s owners in their still-unnamed gastropub project across the street. Currently, the diner, which has an understated vintage sixties look, is operating from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Will it break the curse of this space? Come see for yourself at 3916 W. Sunset Blvd. Silver Lake.
