There’s a Petition to Save the Longwood Sami’s

Long before there were food trucks scattered all over the city, there was Sami’s. The Middle Eastern food trailer, a Longwood institution for three decades, is being forced out of its longtime digs due to “unfortunate events” that remain unnamed. Ah, but Sami’s fans, all is not lost: You can seek solace and sign a petition to save it. Go on, be a gyro!

“For the new location we would need the building to supply us with plumbing and electricity, which of course we will pay for. Also, we will pay rent. In a worst case scenario we can build a truck, but we still need permission from the building for the spot,” they write. Recently, their sister restaurant, the short-lived Sami’s Wrap n Roll in Jamaica Plain, became Cafe Beirut, so times have been tough of late.

To keep this Sami’s from shuttering completely, sign the petition right here. Normally, we’re opposed to “sammies.” But not Sami’s!
