Alex Sacchetti’s Margarita Pizza Bar (no, not “Margherita Pizza Bar”) opened its doors very, very softly this past Monday on a USC-adjacent stretch of Figueroa, pushing the Downtown pie scene a few inches south. With New Yawker Joe D’Angelo in the kitchen, the new business is currently serving an extensive menu of small plates like meatball sliders and calamari, in addition to brick-oven pizzas, daily soups, burgers, and Italian entrees. The restaurant is also proud of its craft beer supply served on tap, even if it could possibly use a tutor when it comes to spelling.
