Michael Schlow has appointed Tico’s head chef, Joshua Smith, as executive chef at his new Happy’s, per a rep. Says Schlow: “Joshua has done such a terrific job as chef of Tico, I’m excited to have him bring that same passion and consistency to Happy’s”, said Schlow. “The menu at Happy’s offers the ‘American food with no rules’ that Joshua loves to make. I’m pleased to give him the opportunity to grow with our company and this exciting new restaurant.”
Meanwhile, over at Tico, George Rodrigues, Tico’s sous chef, gets a promotion. He previously worked for Iron Chef Jose Garces in Philly. Mario Batali recently Tweeted that Tico was his favorite place to eat in Boston, so he already has one fan.
