Kauffman Gushes Over Bar Tartine’s Blood Sausage

In his final published submission to SFoodie, two weeks after his actual departure, we find Jonathan Kauffman naming Bar Tartine’s blood sausage as his number-one favorite dish of 2012, in his 50-dish countdown. (Balla’s mullet-roe toast was also one of Kauffman’s favorites of 2011.) It’s pretty high praise all around as he says that chef Nick Balla’s creative efforts are “reaching the poetic” in their authenticity and artisan-ality. [SFoodie]
