Calle Tacos, who gave local media quite a Spanish lesson last month, is now open on Hollywood Boulevard. The restaurant comes from a partnership between Muse Lifestyle Group, that epicurean Epcot behind such glam spots as Chi Dynasty, Romanov, and Playhouse, with Dorian and Javier Villaseñor, the restaurateurs behind Tacos Don Chente in Long Beach.

Calle makes a stab at today’s muy marketable street culture by parking an entire lonchera into its space, which also sports garage doors opening to the sidewalk, a mini Walk of Fame of its own, and wall art, including our absolute favorite mural motif in all of L.A.: painted bootleg Disney characters that grace domestic barriers and the carts of paleteros city-wide.

It also shares residence with Playhouse, giving the restaurant access to a no-brainer demographic of club-lizards eager to chase Grey Goose and Four Loko cocktails with burritos, tacos, tortas but aren’t exactly bee-lining it to Tacos La Güera at two in the morning.

Calle Tacos, 6508 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood. 323-465-9100.
