The other day, Zito’s Sandwich Shoppe tweeted that they’d be opening some outdoor carts, and we rang them up to get the scoop. The Park Slopers plan to stick close to home, bringing one cart inside Prospect Park, near where bands play in the summertime, and another to Grand Army Plaza, co-owner Marcello Bucca told us. Each will offer four sandwiches: chicken parm, Meatless (with grilled portobellos and roasted red pepper), Autogrill (Provolone, Mortadella, Capicollo, Sopressata and Prosciutto), and another that’s T.B.D. In other exciting news for picnickers, the shop on Seventh Avenue in the Slope is rolling out plastic growlers for toting to the park. Look for all of this by about mid-May.
