What to Eat on AQ’s Spring Menu

As you likely know by now, part of the concept of recent James Beard nominee AQ (1085 Mission Street) is a switch-up of not only the decor but the menu and staff attire with each equinox and solstice. With the start of spring this week comes a new menu which owner Matt Semmelhack says is about 30 percent new dishes to start, with some more changes in the pipeline in the coming weeks. We note that one of our recent favorites, the branzino, is still on there, but new stuff from chef Mark Liberman includes a dish of asparagus with white chocolate, steelhead roe, and borage; a chicken and shrimp dish with chrysanthemum, peanuts, burnt pineapple and kaffir lime; and a dish of pork trotters with spring garlic, snails, and avocado.

See it all below.
