At ten of eight, Tritone hardly felt like it was a bar just a few hours short of closing its doors for good. Like any other night from the last 11 years, Dinosaur Jr. blared from the jukebox, a dozen or so patrons chatted quietly amongst themselves while the bar’s mainstay, Rick “the bartender” Almeida, cracked jokes and doled out the house special, a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon and shot of Jim Beam. With the swift tilt of a PBR can and splash of beer on the floor, one patron near the end of the bar celebrated the memory of the bar’s dearly departed owner Rick “Rick D.” Dombrowolski.
