Sizzler Stakes Its Comeback Prayers on the Bay Area

Watch out, East Bay!
Watch out, East Bay!

Who knew that the Bay Area has always been a strong market for Sizzler steakhouses? As the chain plots a comeback in a weak market for casual dining chains, the region where they’ll be doing the most growth in the near term is the greater Bay, with new restaurants planned in Milpitas, Fremont, Pleasanton, Livermore, Union City, and San Jose. As the Journal reports, this will bring their total Bay Area presence to seventeen locations, putting us just behind Chicago in Sizzler saturation. This news comes as the company is also remodeling its aging restaurants nationwide, and trying to appeal to a younger crowd in L.A. by launching the ZZ-Truck, a food truck that sells steak sandwiches and ice cream.
