Well, it wasn’t for lack of passion. Dr. Miguel Sanchez’s wildly anticipated Romera — which was sort-of built up just to be torn down — will serve its last weird-flavored water, and everything else, tomorrow. Eater confirms the restaurant’s closing through a reservationist there. It didn’t take a rocket scientist (and definitely not a neurologist) to see this coming, as the reviews were largely disheartening and recent price drops showed signs of desperado. Still, it’s quite sad to see a place with so much ambition, even if misguided, turn down the lights and quietly leave. [Eater]
