While it’s been some time since we’ve heard any rumblings of West Philly watering hole Local 44 sprouting a bottled beer annex, owners Brendan Hartranft and Leigh Maida sent word this morning that they will finally open their Bottle Shop at Local 44 on Monday afternoon. They plan to christen the place with a cask of Yards ESA, which they’ll offer a complimentary pour from to everyone who stops by. Next door at the bar, they’re tapping into their Russian River stash, which of course includes a barrel of Pliny the Younger, at 11:30 a.m. Later, Victory Brewing Co. is showing up with a bunch of their finest.

The shop itself will boast upwards of 500 different brews all “lovingly curated” by Hartranft and Maida. Based on the always impressive roster of draughts and bottles they offer at their other bars, Memphis Taproom and Resurrection Ale House, we’re guessing the shop’s selection will be nothing short of mind-blowing.
