LGN Group, who have developed a couple of nightspot concepts including Cedar Hotel near Rush Street, RiNo, and the now-closed Manor, are bringing in Blue13 chef Chris Curren to upgrade the caliber of their food side and bring them into the leagues of culinarily respectable drinking establishments (to judge by online reviews, it’s a wise and needed move). Curren, a recent Jean Banchet award Rising Star Chef nominee who will remain executive chef of Blue13 as well, will become culinary director for the group, in particular in regards to the new spot opening in the Manor space at 642 N. Clark St., Stout Barrel House & Galley. Curren’s contribution will be a menu of local, seasonal American comfort food, while on the beverage side, there will be twenty draft beers on tap and a creative cocktail program. At the moment, the word on Stout Barrel House’s opening is just “spring,” but watch for more details.
