A Few Details on Bistro Truck’s Upcoming LES Restaurant, Rustic

We were a bit surprised to learn the other day that Bistro Truck is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant on still-rough Ridge Street, but that’s the word: Owner Yassir Raouli confirms that he hopes to open Rustic, a nineteen-seat eatery with backyard, on April 20. On the menu: “nose-to-tail” “Moroccan-influenced” fare including tripe stew, sweetbreads, roasted whole lamb, and grilled lamb liver, plus wine and beer; that’ll be served for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Fittingly, given the name, the look will be “industrial chic” with custom furnishings made from reclaimed wood. Bistro Truck will continue to operate normally in the meantime (see Twitter for its latest whereabouts). Side note: Does this place — and this one — mean the LES east of Attorney Street might finally be happening?
