Baconfest Announces Food Depository Donation, Contests

With both Baconfest sessions sold out, Baconfest Chicago has announced some things relating to the leadup to the event. Like: a $40,000 donation to the Greater Chicago Food Depository from ticket proceeds, as well as a food drive at the event (last year’s took in 1,600 pounds of food), a raffle at the event, all of the proceeds of which will go to the Food Depository, and a Baconfest volunteer day at the Good Depository on May 5. There are also slivers of hope for those who didn’t get tickets, like the Nueske’s Amateur Cookoff, with 33 candidates, which is running now, with voters choosing finalists to be judged through March 5. And a Bacon Poem contest, which you can read more about here.
