Adam Fleischman’s modern, chef-driven mega-cafeteria, Umamicatessen, will make its soft-debut in Downtown on March 3rd. Not only will this offer the debut of Pigg from San Francisco’s offal-obsessed Incanto chef, Chris Cosentino, but two new projects are also making themselves known. The Back Bar will be a beer, wine, sake, and cocktail palace with 30 bottles of wine priced at $28, ten drafts and a curated selection of bottled craft brews, and classic and tweaked cocktails overseen by Adrian Biggs of Descarga and Harvard & Stone. Spring for Coffee will be a java bar serving made-to-order mud and espresso, and coffee cocktails, according to reps. The soft-open will include limited service and will also see the debut of The Cure, the deli concept sprung from Fleischman’s own mind.
Umamicatessen, 852 S. Broadway. Los Angeles.
