If all goes according to plan, Jason Evenchik, owner of Vintage Wine Bar & Bistro and Time, will begin working on his next effort, a bar and restaurant tentatively titled The Garage in coming weeks. He just cleared his first zoning hurdle, and will take his case before the community next week. The proposed project will occupy the Satellite Auto Body garage next to South Philly Bar & Grill and directly across from Geno’s at 1231-1233 East Passyunk Ave. Evenchik told Grub his plans for the space will include a bar, foosball, large TVs and enough seating for 30 guests. The menu will in a sense bring the food truck experience indoors. “We’re going to have a food cart inside and do modern American street food from around the country,” Evenchik said. “We’re looking at opening in about three or four months.”

In addition to serving their own take on American street food, Evenchik said he’s going to work with Honest Tom’s and other food truck operators to bring in their food on a rotating schedule. “We’re going to switch it up pretty regularly,” he said. “It’s definitely not going to be the same old thing.”
