Last week, The L.A. Times readied the city for the return of the popular Test Kitchen guest-chef concept that took over for a spell in 2010 at The Townhouse, where Picca and Sotto now reside. Today we learn that Test Kitchen is indeed coming back, with a vengeance. Or make that back with burgers, five chefs, and four mixologists, all over one night at Short Order. Who will bring their burgers to Fairfax’s Original Farmer’s Market this Saturday?
This Saturday, Short Order will host such former Test Kitchen occupants as Walter Manzke, Ray’s chef Kris Morningstar, Adam Horton from Raphael, Short Order’s own Christian Page, and Ori Menashe of Bestia, the new trattoria concept coming to Downtown from owner Bill Chait, one of Test Kitchen’s founders.
Each chef will contribute a different burger, such as Manzke’s Vietnamese pork burger or page’s Filet-o-Fish, along with sides, while a crew of four mixologists (comprised of Julian Cox, Son of a Gun’s Daniel Warrilow, Starck Bar’s Paul Sanguinetti, and Chris Parke of Raphael) will be on drink duty. No word on what might fill your cups, but we have the full menu of burger options below, along with the word on who’s making what.
Reservations for Short Order’s one-night-only Test Kitchen affair are suggested to be made over email with your name, number, plus the requested time and size of your party, while walk-ins will be also accepted from 9:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.
