Resorts Casino Hotel owner Dennis Gomes, whose misadventures as a Las Vegas prosecutor inspired the motion picture Casino, passed away last night in New Jersey. NBC Philadelphia reports that a cause of death has not been determined yet. Gomes and real estate magnate Morris Bailey are credited with saving Resorts from closing when they purchased the troubled property back in 2010. Here’s hoping lady luck and loose slots await Gomes in the hereafter. [NBC Philly]
