Sure, you’re in Chicago for the NATO/G8 summits, and it’s exciting plotting world domination, but you can’t spend the whole day cackling at the giant-puppethead protesters in the streets far below— you need to eat, too. Lucky for you, according to Chicago Business Chicago restaurants are responding to the call with promotions designed to showcase Chicago cuisine to the world leaders visiting then.

Led by the Illinois Restaurant Association and such notable chefs as Dirk Flanigan (Henri/The Gage), John Hogan (Keefer’s), Tony Hu (Lao Sze Chuan et al.) and Tony Priolo (Piccolo Sogno), some 50 restaurants are participating in promotions and events such as:

• Special tasting menus at all 50+ participating restaurants

• “Chicago’s Culinary Crossroads,” a series of collaboration dinners between visiting chefs from 8 of the 28 NATO countries and Chicago chefs

• Dine at three or more of the 50+ participating restaurants between May 1 and 25, and enter a contest for tickets and accommodations to the Chicago Gourmet food and wine-tasting exposition at Millennium Park in September
