Mare, Now an Oyster Bar, Reopens on Friday

Grub Street hears that the newly reconcepted Mare Oyster Bar will open to the public on Friday. The North End restaurant used to be called Mare National Coastal Italian Restaurant, but owner Frank DePasquale says it’s time to give the people what they want: bivalves.

Per a release: “We understand that there is a growing market for oyster bars in Boston, so we are reconcepting Mare to fill this need. Everything that our loyal customers loved so much about our restaurant will remain the same, there will just be a new life to the space and a new focus to the menu.”

Executive Chef Greg Jordan is also excited about a new burger addition to the menu, which he says will be “phenomenal.” Taste it for yourself on Friday!
