Though smacked down late last year when their plan to put liquor sales into private hands was gutted, de-clawed and neutered beyond recognition, privatization hawks in Harrisburg maintain that they’re going to get the state out of the booze business. Meanwhile everyone else appears to moving on. LCB in fact has taken another step forward with its modernization efforts this week with the launch of a new iPhone app. The Inky reports today that the app will help make it easier to find wines and liquors in the state store system. Users can search for products, browse what’s on sale, and even get wine shipped directly to their homes. No doubt this is a way better use of technology than those pesky wine kiosks. [Inquirer]
