Last fall we heard that District Wine Bar would be expanding across the Bay to the old Lavende East space in Old Oakland (827 Washington Street at 9th), and today we get the full release of the news, with an opening finally scheduled for March or April. In addition to the wine focus of the S.F. District, the Oakland location will have a full bar with a selection of 40 craft whiskeys and classic cocktails like a Sazerac and a Mint Julep. Sommelier Caterina Mirabelli, a native of Rome, will curate a list of 40 wines by glass, and 300 reserve bottles. Additionally, there will be a menu of small plates, charcuterie, and pizzettas from chef Bob Cina, and they’re hoping to have sidewalk seating as well. [Grub Street]
